Wall cabinet dimensions:

These wall cabinets are actually attached above counters and hence do not touch the ground, and these are used for storing light kitchenware or food stuff. Since these are used most often, and are at eye level, they actually set the tone of the kitchen. These can be personalized by adding your favourite lights and glass features while you design commercial designs.

Dimensions:

Height: 12, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36 and 42 inches

  • 12” ones are those above the fridge
  • width – 12-36 inches
  • Standard width for single and double door wall cabinets is available in widths between 9” to 36” with an increase of 3” each.
  • Depth : 12” to 24” standard being 24”.

Tall Cabinet Dimensions

These are usually pantries although less common but they are very helpful if you install them in the right way, These extend from the floor to the ceiling and the dimensions are as follows:

  • Height: 84, 90 and 96 inches. The 84 inch cabinet leaves about a foot length on the top to keep some decorative items or a ceramic pot.
  • Width: 18, 24 and 30 inches. The 24 inch cabinet is the most common size that looks good, while 30 inches cabinets are used when pull-out drawers are added.
  • Depth: 24 inches

The most commonly used depth for tall cabinets is 24 inches, as they are good for adding pull-out drawers.

Base Cabinet Dimensions

Base cabinets are the strong and sturdy cabinets that go right on the floor and are good for heavy lifting when it comes to storage. These base cabinets are the ones you can store most of the kitchen aid such as mixer, large pots and pans and the ones you might be using less. These cabinets usually have sinks installed within them and the countertops cover them and they surround stoves and dishwashers. Dimensions are given below:

  • Height, minus countertops – 34.5 inches. Not much variance is available in this type.
  • Height, including Counter-tops 35-36 inches.
  • Width, 9-46 inches with 3” increments.
  • The width of these cabinets are most variable, based on the purpose of usage.

As for a few examples, 9, 12, 18, or 24 inches- are good for storing baking pans, spices, pull-outs or narrow rolling.

30 inches – used for single basin sinks.

33 inches – Used for offset sinks, or double basin sinks.

36 inches – for double basin sinks.

42 inches – is just extra large.

  • Depth, minus countertops-24 inches. Deeper than 24 inches would be tough to reach the outer edge of the cabinet wall or even plug in appliances.
